Mimi and partner in sound, beyerdynamic won a CES 2018 Innovation Awards for the Aventho wireless headphones. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers, and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products across 28 product categories.
The beyerdynamic built and mimi personalized Aventho wireless uses Bluetooth 4.2 protocol with the aptX™ HD codec from Qualcomm®. This way, the best possible sound is guaranteed, even without wires. Additionally, Mimi's breakthrough personalization software allows for a truly personalized sound experience. Mimification makes it possible to create a personal hearing profile. This profile is based on the soundcheck in the “Make it yours” (MIY) app and then uploaded directly to the Aventho wireless. This new high-end model also offers innovative operation: the right side serves as a touch gesture control pad. All functions can be activated using simple touches and gestures: next track, louder, take a call, hang up, lower volume, pause…it’s never been so easy to control your headphones, smartphone and music player app. Via the MIY app, the sensitivity of the touch control can also be adjusted to suit your individual preferences. There is also a tracking option within the app to gain an insight into your listening habits and measure duration and intensity of your daily listening. Each year, 30 companies are selected for the prestigious Sonar+D Startup Garden competition. Sónar+D is the international conference that brings together a combination of initiatives around a common theme: the relationship between creativity and technology, and the digital transformation of the cultural industries involved.
Of the 10 companies who made it to the final round, Mimi won the overall 1st prize for the best startup. Why? According to the international jury it came down to compelling business model, business scalability, traction, and the overall creativity of the Mimi adventure in sound. We are honored.
